Update of ammo on shelves at Walmart
 

I have been going to the 2 local Walmarts over the past 3 years. As I reported over the last year or so they have had problems keeping the normal rifle and pistol ammo on the shelves. Just like others have reported. Well, the last month or so, while shopping for Christmas I check almost on a daily basis at lunch time and they still have 7.62x39 and 223 in abundance. Both stores are having problems just getting pistol ammo. Maybe things are getting better--in this area.

Still no common calibers of ammo at my Wal-Marts in Southwest Ohio.

The 3 closest Waldo-Worlds to me all have plenty of:

.223
.300
.308
7mm

also. some .380 .38 special and .357 Sig.

.22LR and 9MM Luger fly off the shelf every morning as soon as the truck is unloaded.

Just the more obscure rifle ammo at my local stores, and only a few boxes of each (22-250, 7mm mag, etc). No pistol ammo at all. They just remodeled these stores recently, and it makes me wonder why they bothered to include an ammo case at all.

9mm is still hard to find at my local Wal-Mart. They get it in but it's gone pretty quick. They usually have few boxes of .40 or .357 Sig. Once in a while they'll get some .38 Special or .357 Magnum. They kept .44 Magnum on the shelfs for a few weeks.
I can always get 9mm at my local store but it may take one or two nights of getting some clerk to open the ammo cabinet at 1am. Shift work comes in handy.
